  • Writing a memoir: Chronicles of a Catholic Housewife: A Forty Year Journey Towards the Promised Land. It tracks my forty year marriage to a secular Muslim from Indonesia. I am originally from El Salvador and have liberation theological tendencies. The story is based in San Francisco and journeys through the sexual revolution of the 70's, the materialism of the '80's and spiritual searching of the 90's. Recently my daughter moved to New York and married a Jew. Presently living in Singapore.

  • Only after over 40+ years of being tossed to and fro as a Protestant Christian, did I begin to gain interest in the Catholic faith. Biblically speaking, my #1 apologetics text would be Acts 28:22 - she IS everywhere spoken against, and that is precisely the proof of who and what the Catholic Church is. After 14 year of practicing the faith, I have only one regret - I waited as long as I did to check it out!

  • I just finished reading Fr. Barron's book, and I was deeply moved. Thank you, Fr. Barron, for writing so well on what it means to be a Catholic. As a Catholic, it made me feel joy and comfort. It also taught me the meaning behind the rituals of Mass. Thank you so much.

  • I converted to the Catholic Church in 2010, after a very hard year in my life, I feel in love with the Church, as much as my friends and family put up obsticels and blocked my path into the church, God always showed me a way around them and at one point he picked me up over them. But now as woman who is totaly in love with the church and is trying to find a balance of work and prayer, these dvd's have showed me the subtle beauty that is the Catholic Church.
Father Barron, teachs with such love and compassion for the Church that you as the viewer can't help but fall in love with the Church even more.
God bless Fr. Barron and I hope that everyone in the world gets to see these and I hope they get as much out of them as I did.

  • I was raised in two faiths of Quaker, & southern Babtist, My mothers father was a Quaker Minister, My father,s uncle was a Babtist minister. My brother met a catholic Girl and turned catholic before he married, and I went to the catholic church with him alot, Then I met my wife in school who was Catholic in her faith,In her family her uncles were Archbisops and priest of the church , her aunt's were nuns in the faith. It took me 5 yrs of studying the faith OF RICA, BABTISM CATACISM,CONFIRMATION before my wife 's uncles believed i was ready to become Catholic. It was their training that showed me that this is the true religion, faith that God and Jesus taught. I get tired of others attacking GODS TRUE RELIGION .

  • Cradle Catholic, raised Catholic, lost sheep but now absolutely 100% Catholic. Between Michael Voris with St. Michael's Media and Father Barron, their fantastic gifts to elaborate on the Truth of the One True Church has enabled me to draw even closer to our Dear Lord through the common sense, beauty, and majesty of our immense history. Catholicism IS genius. I encourage everyone to dive in, realize how much "presence" surrounds us, and motivate yourselves to a higher awareness. The series capitvates and portrays the immense treasures and richness the world can come to know in the Life of our Church. Thank you Father Barron and all who have made this possible. What a glorious way to disciple! God is good.

  • This is Michael, my family originally came from Minot, North Dakota to Washington state for a more temperate climate due to my father's,Frank Werner his mother a Maier, my great grandfather built wagons and farm plows and farming was in their occupations, medical condition, a need for cortisone shots for his left arm, a condition that occured due to cold climate since he worked on a flight field at Minot Air Force Base at the time of 1968. He kept the families history on migration from Oddessa, Russia from Alsace, France and finally to Bismark, North Dakota. I am currently at a golf course to keep my health good and work on sand traps and other maintenance functions that occur every day. I can learn to golf and have tried to keep my arms in shape and good alignment is necessary to drive that golf ball into correct direction. I hope to persue a sports psychology or business communications degree, maybe on-line or best to attend a local college.

  • Being a loving Catholic is simple, like making daily bread, but involves hard work to plant the seeds, to tend, to harvest, to grid, to make and to bake. Fr. Barron's explanation of Mt 5-7 and the Beatitudes opened up my eyes to what Jesus meant by Daily Bread in the Lord's Prayer.
How we must sacrifice our honor, power, wealth and pleasure to give our brothers the Daily Bread of His Love.

  • I personally purchased your 10 video series on Catholicism and it was amazing. Viewing it all within two days, I have had Catholicism up to my eyeballs. I only have one point that I wish you had worded differently. When you were talking about turning the other cheek, you adviced not to acquiesce but "by God" stand your ground. I wish you hadn't used the name of God so carelessly. If you had said "for the love of God" stand your ground; it would of fit better into your position as priest and leader but as a Christian witness.

  • I went through high school in the late 60's in Southern California and was deeply into the sex, drugs, and rock and roll scene.Soon after high school,I found myself in despair and was about to commit suicide when a young man approached me and told me how much God loved me and could change mt life if I would let Him.I ended up bowing my head and with that guy and asked Jesus to come into my hert, and to change my life.I then went through 3 years of fundamentalist evangelical Bible colleges.During that time I got involved in a ministry of witnessing to Jehova's Witnesses, who claim to be a return to 1st century Christianity. To rebut their claim we would use quotes from the Apostolic Fathers. As I read and reread these letter of early Christian leaders of the Church,I began realizing that I didn't believe as the 1st century Church did either! I began investigating the Catholic Church and spent a lot of time alone before the Blessed Sacrament with my Bible.I also read every Saint I could get my hands on,and to make an already long story shorter,I ended up coming into the one holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. My area of interest has shifted from dogmatic theology and apologetics to ascetic theology and psychological studies.I've grown very blessed by listening to Fr. Barron, and have him posted all over my facebook page--may the Lord richly bless you and keep you Father,I love you and you are in my prayers and in my heart,Stephen

  • Today is the Feast of St. Isidore the Farmer, a frequent lifeline for small family farmers who rely entirely on the grace of God in the form of much needed precipitation. Rozann Carter, having grown up on a ranch in New Mexico, is acquainted with St. Isidore, and she talks about how farming—and praying for rain—teaches us to be a people who "practice the Resurrection." http://tinyurl.com/b26l4ul
